A rare and early Dutch Amsterdam walnut veneered longcase clock by John and Asuaherus II Fromanteel. The velvet covered dial has date and day of the week indications. The eight day movement strikes Dutch quarter striking on two bells and alarm on the large bell. The walnut veneered case is embellished with typical Dutch baroque foliate carving. This clock belongs to the first generation of Dutch longcase clocks.
