Portraitminiature of a unknown youngman. Watercolour on ivory (oval), signed right: D. Nederveen. Daniël Nederveen (1811-1891) lived and worked the most of his live in 's-Hertogenbosch, Brabant in the south of The Netherlands. He was a portrait and miniature painter but also painted figures and genre scenes. In 1839 he worked in Amsterdam and in Groningen around may 1849. He exhibited his work at exhibitions for living artists in 's-Hertogenbosch 1828, 1839 and 1854, Amsterdam 1846 and Groningen 1849 and 1854. The Noordbrabants Museum in 's-Hertogenbosch holds a collection of his work.
