Otto B. de Kat was influenced by the painters of the Nabis, Pierre Bonnard in particular. He even had a house in France. In this lovely tonal oil painting with original frame, in which the red color appears very refined in the painting, he portrayed his wife Dora with Minie, their neighbour in France.
